Sowing Beauty JDH cover

James Hitchmough presented his latest book at Sheffield’s Literary Festival “Off the Shelf”. Sowing Beauty describes how to design and sow seed mixes that mimic the dramatic beauty of natural flowering meadows. This style can be seen at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, at the Botanic Garden at the University of Oxford, and the Woody Meadow in Melbourne.

Published by Timber Press, Sowing Beauty is the result of James Hitchmough’s travels to distant parts of the world to explore natural plant communities, and is supported by detailed research in designed ecology at the Department of Landscape, University of Sheffield.

James’s presentation can be viewed as a pdf.
